Summer is the perfect time for plans. From weddings and events to outdoor gigs and beach days, there’s always something to do. But when you’re busy having fun, your health and fitness can take a bit of a back seat. Now that summer’s coming to an end, it’s a good time to hit the reset button, set some new goals and focus on wellness again. Take a look at the following ideas for how you can get your health back on track.

Create a new fitness routine

Summer is great for spending time outdoors – many people are naturally more active in the summer. But between vacations and days out, your fitness routine can slip. Changing up your fitness routine for fall can help you make the most of the cooler weather and still enjoy the benefits of being outdoors, without things becoming too hot and unbearable. Like the first day of school, a solid fall fitness routine could be all you need to get back on track and go into the new season fitter and healthier than ever.

Take care of your skin

If you’ve been out and about in the sun this summer, it may show on your skin. Even if you’ve been diligent with the SPF, your skin may be dry and tired-looking, and in desperate need of a refresh. Create a skincare routine that focuses on barrier repair and restoring moisture, and you’ll soon regain your youthful glow. You should also pay attention to your home’s air quality and its effect on your skin, as too much dry air from air conditioning and heating could cause you to age prematurely.

Get your hearing checked out

Been to many gigs this summer? It could be time to get your hearing checked out. Loud music with no ear protection can cause serious damage to your hearing, so a regular hearing check is a must when you’re a regular gig goer. If your hearing is impaired, hearing aids could make a big difference. In future, invest in some ear protection to help you keep your ears protected – a little protection now can make a huge difference as you get older.

Focus on your sleep

If the summer has been hectic, you probably need a little rest and recharge! With the cozy season on the way, it’s a good time to establish a solid sleep routine and replenish your energy levels. Sleep is incredibly important for your body’s recovery, and with winter on the way, a good sleep routine can help you beat Seasonal Affective Disorder and boost your immunity too.

Summer is an energetic and hectic time of year – a great time to get out and enjoy yourself. With the fall season approaching, it’s a good time to check in with yourself and focus on your health and wellbeing again. Regular exercise, a good diet and plenty of sleep will benefit you at this time of year, preparing your body for darker, colder days. They also say that summer bodies are built in winter so by getting a head start on your goals, you could make next summer your best, most confident yet!
