Your Complete Apartment Cleaning Checklist for Winter

December 26, 2022 · In: At Home

Whether you are a homeowner or you use your apartment for rental property business, tidiness is crucial. As seasons change, we put out forgotten boxes of decorations, warmer clothes, blankets, etc. One thing that must not be forgotten is cleaning those items for your health and safety.

If you are a property owner with multiple properties, it’s best to hire a property management company for some assistance, because the checklist for apartment cleaning during winter is long and nothing should be overlooked if you want your guests and tenants to feel comfortable and write excellent reviews.

If you are a homeowner with pets, babies, or even on your own, these issues need to be addressed. Cleaning your home should be a top priority so you can breathe clean air with minimal bacteria and low allergy risks.

Wash Blankets and Pillows

The feature most of us look forward to before winter comes is snuggling up with blankets surrounded by multiple pillows and watching our favorite holiday movies with a hot cup of cocoa in our hands.

The experience can only be satisfying when the blankets smell fresh and clean and your pillows are fluffy and newly washed. Undoubtedly, you will need to use throw pillows and blankets during the coldest of days. Therefore, it’s best to make sure that they are as clean as they can be for your health and your safety.

Not only will you save yourself a visit to the doctor’s office, but you will also be able to enjoy the cold days with warm covers that smell nice.

Change Furnace Filters

We circle back to health every time because nothing matters as much. If you live in an environment where the air you breathe is polluted your immune system will slowly be ruined and you will easily get diseases and viruses.

Furnaces move the air around your apartment and if you want to avoid breathing dirt, you need to make sure that the filters are clean and they work properly.

Deep Clean Oven

The holiday season is the one for big feasts and delicious treats. You will surely need to use the oven to cook turkey and bake gingerbread cookies. Therefore, before the festivities begin, you need to deep clean your oven.

By cooking your meals without properly cleaning the oven first, you might end up with food poisoning. If you want to enjoy the holidays to their fullest with a lot of energy and a joyful attitude, you must eat clean and well-made food.

Clean Rugs and Carpets

If you live closer to the north, your region is bound to get rainy, snowy, and ultimately muddy. You and your friends will end up bringing snow, mud, and dirt into your home and some of it might get on the carpets and rugs.

Therefore, you need a strong cleaning system to take care of the issue. You should use powerful carpet cleaning tools and mechanisms to stay away from bacteria and dust. Although some might use mud for skincare, it’s not really healthy to leave it lying around in your apartment. To make sure that you got rid of the dirt that can be brought from the outside, deep clean the carpets and the rugs with powerful cleaning innovations.

Clean The Decorations

Most of the holidays that happen during the colder seasons are celebrated with decorations. The festive items are mostly kept in boxes and stored in closed cupboards. The Christmas tree, lights, and mistletoes could collect a lot of dust. Moreover, there may be some pests living among your favorite ornaments.

You need to keep your home clean and tidy, free of bugs and rats. For you to do so, you need a foolproof pest prevention system. Make sure that all of your decorations are free of bugs and dust and that they are ready to be placed in the spotlight.

Conclusion

Winter can be humid, cold, and rainy, therefore, your property might get filthy with mud and dust. The cold season brings enough allergies and viruses on its own, adding polluted air to the mix is only going to damage your immune system further.

To stay away from diseases, breathe clean air, and live in a tidy atmosphere, you must keep a cleaning checklist for winter so you don’t miss the important details. You will need a clean oven to cook delicious holiday meals and treats, clean blankets and pillows to get cozy on the sofa with your favorite Christmas movie, clean rugs and carpets to make sure that there is no mud and dirt around the house, and clean decorations so you know for sure that no unwanted guests living in your house without paying the rent.
