Of course, we understand that you’re not going to be able to do this all of the time, and there may be times where they are able to go by themselves, but it’s always nice to have some support. For example, if they are booked in for a hearing test because their hearing is starting to decline, some moral support will be appreciated to make sure they have someone to hold hands with. It’s also a good idea as sometimes they might miss parts of information, and you are then able to fill in any gaps for them.
This is the same for other medical appointments they may need to attend. They would be there for you if you needed them, so it’s nice of you to be there for them.
Talk To Them About Their Health
The final thing that we’re going to recommend is that you talk to them about their health. There are times where changes can be scary, and if there is nobody to talk to then it can feel overwhelming and lonely. Even though sometimes the conversations might be hard for both of you, it’s imperative that they have this support from you.
They need to feel safe to say what they want to say, to talk about how they are feeling and how they are being impacted. You can then offer any advice or support that you have, and they know that they are not alone.
